The town of  Buhi, Camarines Sur is famous for being the home of a beautiful lake that covers an  area of around 18 square kilometers. Lake Buhi is a tourist attraction that is not only known for its beauty because it also supports the surrounding ecosystem. This wonderful lake feeds the local population and provides water for a power plant that provides electricity to the region and beyond.  Let me enumerate the various attractions that entice tourists to visit this fascinating lake in Camarines Sur.
This lake became a subject of interest because it holds the distinction of being the home of one of the smallest edible fish in the world. This tiny fish is known as the scientifically as the Mistichthys luzonensis. These minute organisms only measure around 12-mm long. A visit to this attraction will allow one to see this unique creature and you might be able to taste some of the dishes made from it.
This amazing lake in Camarines Sur also supports a vast array of other organisms aside from the tiny edible fish that has made it famous. Its literally alive with abundant supply of  tilapia, carp and mudfish. Small shellfish can also be harvested from this rich body of water. I'm sure that one can also sample delicious meals made from these kinds of fish when you visit this lake.
However, the thriving ecosystem does not stop at the shores of Lake Buhi. The forest that surrounds it is home to some of the most exotic animals in the region. Explore this forest and one may be able to observe some rare and elusive creatures such as parrots, doves, wood peckers, flying lizards, skinks, monitor lizards, civet cats, bats and monkeys.
